Paul Oosting National Director

Paul Oosting has been the National Director of GetUp since 2015.
As National Director, Paul has led GetUp through two federal election campaigns and pioneered a raft of innovative campaign tactics and tools. This includes the successful Yes Campaign for Marriage Equality that helped thousands of people mobilise and enrol to vote.
Paul works alongside GetUp’s one million members and talented team of world class campaigners, organisers, technologists and analysts. Together, they drive a campaign agenda focused on enhancing participation in our democracy.
Before joining GetUp, Paul led the successful campaign to stop Gunns’ proposed pulp mill in Tasmania. His negotiations resulted in the protection of over 160,000 hectares of Tasmania’s ancient forests.

Natalie O'Brien Chief of Staff

Natalie O’Brien is GetUp’s Chief of Staff and former Economic Fairness Director. She joined GetUp in 2013, after a stint at NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, and having campaigned on issues including marriage rights and immigration reform during the 2012 US presidential election.

Emily Mulligan is a Campaign Director with GetUp. She has a decade’s experience in campaigning from lobbying for better policy at global climate conferences to media exposure for women’s rights programs in Uganda. Most recently Emily has worked on Australia focused campaigns from the Murray Darling to Marriage Equality and media freedom.

Larissa Baldwin First Nations Justice Campaign Director

Larissa Baldwin is a Widjabul woman from the Bundjalung Nations and GetUp’s First Nations Justice Campaign Director. She dedicates her life to fighting for First Nations justice and Self-Determination. From staunch grassroots resistance, to building the Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network, to starting First Nations Justice campaigning at GetUp. Larissa has a passion for mentoring young people, and crafting brilliant campaign strategies.
Larissa is an expert on gas policy, she has spent extensive periods of time in the Northern Territory working directly with Traditional Owners and communities who don’t support fracking on their land. She’s also undertaken extensive research and policy campaign work on gas supply, the gas industry and its impacts on climate change and fossil fuel emissions.
Larissa can speak on a range of diverse topics including, Native Title and land rights, decarceration, democracy, health, education and politics
Before she joined GetUp she was National Co-Director for Seed Mob and a Queensland Campaigner for the Australian Youth Climate Coalition working across on the Reef and Galilee campaign. -
Ed Miller Economic Fairness Campaigns Director

Ed leads GetUp’s efforts to build an economy that works for all of us. He authored GetUp’s economic vision Future to Fight For, hosts a podcast by the same name, and has brought some of the world’s leading economic thinkers on tour to Australia.
Prior to working at GetUp, Ed was the Executive Director of the world’s largest social impact consultancy for charities and non-profits, a speech-writer for a former senior Australian politician, and an analyst at one of Australia’s best performing private equity funds.
Ed was the Dean’s Undergraduate Scholar for Economics at Sydney University, and is one of only a handful of people to have won both the Australasian and World Debating Championships

Ruby-Rose O'Halloran Campaign Director

Ruby is a Campaign Director at GetUp, working across issues such as electoral law reform, maintaining a free and independent media landscape, and fighting mass surveillance.
Ruby joined GetUp’s Economic Fairness team in 2015, has played a leading role in GetUp’s democracy campaign work and more recently led GetUp’s 2019 election campaign against Peter Dutton in the seat of Dickson. -
Ben Raue Data Analyst

Ben Raue is a data analyst specialising in analysing Australian elections. He has run the Tally Room website since 2008, where he publishes guides to every state and federal election. Ben has worked at GetUp since 2013 where he analyses GetUp’s one-million strong membership database.

Alix is a Campaign Lead at GetUp. She leads a team of talented Campaigners who work on issues ranging from fairness in our media, democracy, environmental issues and much more.
Alix has been campaigning for over seven years - in Australia and the UK - with most of her experience in climate, environmental and rapid response campaigning. She has worked on several international campaigns across the globe, as well as in community housing, homelessness and international aid.
